ShiftLog Privacy Policy

ShiftLog ("we", "our", or "the app") is a focus and time-tracking application developed by Recribel. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app may collect, how it is used, and what choices you have regarding your information.

This Privacy Policy applies to all versions of the ShiftLog mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information stored locally on your device

When you use ShiftLog without signing in, the app may store information locally on your device, including:

- Focus areas, task names, and selected colors
- Session history, including start and end times
- Streak count and last active date
- App preferences, such as theme settings, notifications, and display name
- Temporary purchase verification state used to complete subscription activation
- Other app data needed for core functionality

This data remains on your device unless you choose to sign in with Google and use cloud sync features.

B. Information synced to cloud services

If you sign in with Google, ShiftLog may collect and store the following information using Google Firebase services:

- Google account name
- Email address
- User ID
- Focus areas and session history
- Streak and progress data
- Subscription and premium status information
- App version and limited sync metadata

This information is used to authenticate your account, restore your data across devices, and maintain premium access.

C. Purchase and subscription information

If you purchase or restore ShiftLog Pro through Google Play, the app may process purchase-related information such as:

- Product ID
- Purchase token
- Subscription verification status
- Subscription expiry or renewal status

Purchase verification is used only to activate, restore, and maintain premium access.

D. Analytics, diagnostics, and crash data

ShiftLog uses Google Firebase services, including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, to help us understand app performance, diagnose crashes, and improve the app. These services may collect information such as:

- App interactions and usage events
- Diagnostic information
- Crash logs
- Device and app identifiers
- Technical performance information

E. Advertising data

Free users may see ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob and related Google services may collect or process information such as:

- Advertising ID
- Device or other identifiers
- IP address
- App interaction data
- Ad performance and attribution data

This information may be used to serve ads, measure ad performance, and support analytics.

2. How We Use Information

We use information collected by ShiftLog to:

- Provide the core functionality of the app
- Save and restore your focus data and session history
- Sync your data across devices when you sign in
- Maintain streaks, progress, and premium access
- Verify and restore subscriptions
- Diagnose crashes and improve app stability
- Measure app usage and performance
- Display advertisements in the free version of the app

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third-Party Services

ShiftLog uses third-party services that may collect, process, or store data under their own privacy policies. These services include:

- Google AdMob
- Firebase Authentication
- Firebase Firestore
- Firebase Analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics
- Google Play Billing

These services may process information such as identifiers, technical diagnostics, purchase status, and interaction data.

4. App Permissions

ShiftLog may request certain device permissions required for app functionality, including permissions related to:

6. Data Storage and Security

Local app data is stored on your device using standard device storage mechanisms.

Cloud data is stored using Google Firebase infrastructure. Data transmitted between the app and cloud services is encrypted in transit. Google may also apply additional protections such as encryption at rest within its infrastructure.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Data Retention

Data stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app.

If you use cloud features, your account-related cloud data may remain stored until it is deleted by you or deleted following a valid deletion request.

9. User Choices

Users may choose to:

- Use ShiftLog without signing in
- Sign in with Google to enable cloud sync and account-based features
- Purchase or not purchase ShiftLog Pro
- Disable personalized ads through device settings where supported
- Request deletion of account-associated cloud data

10. Children’s Privacy

ShiftLog is not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will take steps to delete it.

11. International Users

ShiftLog may be used internationally. By using the app, you understand that your information may be processed and stored on servers operated by third-party providers in different countries.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after updates means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
